Compare Internet Deals in Turkey

16th October 2015

For most expats living in Turkey the internet connection is definitely an important decision. Your choice of Internet Service Provider (ISP) can make an enormous difference in your happiness (or frustrations) as an internet user. Depending on where you live, you might have a great choice of ISPs or you might be stuck with just a few options. #TTNET

First, it's worthwhile to know the differences between the types of internet service available. "Broadband" is an umbrella term that covers all of the always-on types of internet connections: cable, satellite, ADSL, and fiber optic service. Another option is pre paid internet devices.

However, If you live in Turkey permanently your best option will be 'broadband' internet.

Turkish Internet

Currently Türk Telekom's TTNET ADSL2+ service is the most widely used Internet service in Turkey, offering speeds from 8 Mbit/s to 24 Mbit/s. Most broadband companies in Turkey use TTNET's infrastructure.

TTNet and Superonline, which between themselves provide the bulk of Turkish broadband Internet access, have started applying "fair use" policies. that are overly restrictive in terms of the allowed download and upload quotas. Most accounts are allotted 50 GB download (and 10 GB upload) quotas.

Pre paid Internet devices
Turkcell offers 3 different devices, known as a 'Vinn' these allow easily access to 3G internet.
Starting from 125 TL these devices can be purchased from any Turkcell branch and require a sim card. Once registered you simply 'top up' the device and 'pay as you'. The internet can be accessed anywhere in Turkey and offers easy connection. Learn more here.

These devices can be great if you don't live in Turkey permanently or if you don't want a contract agreement.

Other 'pay as you go' internet options include 'Rent n Connect' - This company offer tablet and hotspot devices which are available to rent directly from YellAli.com - See page here.   (This company is not an ISP)

Please note; Many of the above ISP's will require a Turkish residence permit to register and some services may be limited by location.
